- The BSA is controlled by corporate interests
- The BSA is an institution that will change its policies based on the shifting moral sands of the secular world
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...but down the road. What changes will the BSA propose next that conflict with Gospel teaching?
We are taught as Latter-day Saints to be self-sufficient (temporally and spiritually). In the BSA, we have an organization we frankly don't control despite being a 30-40% stakeholder.
Let us create a more invigorated and expansive Duty to God program and become wholly reliant on our own programs. The BSA certainly doesn't have our theology at its core.
While it pains me to say all this as a three palm Eagle Scout...let us flee Babylon.
