The BukranBlog Salutes Black History Month: A Tribute to Some of the Greatest African-Americans of All Time

Dear readers, your task is now to correctly name all 14 historical figures...who will be first?

P.S. By 'some of the greatest African-Americans of all time' I meant every black person I was aware of growing up in the all-white suburbs of Utah.

Riddle me this. Why can't I get your blog to feed updates?

That had nothing to do with your post. Sorry. George Washington Carver is Awesome.

I've been wondering the same thing and just tweaked some options in my account...is it working now?

Are you sure about your "?" answers?

Because if so, you've now won your prize--the respect of every African-American in this country!

But... I already have that, except for maybe Barack's, but guess how much I really care about that. No, I want a cookie.

Wally Amos will have to help you out on that one...and by that I mean the gargantuan multinational food company he sold his cookie business to...

Here's my shot at it:

1. Carl Winslow (did I do that?)
2. ?
3. Aunt Jemimah (sticky sweet, she reminds me of the ladies at the plantations we visited in Richmond that served us up some gingerbread)
4. Harried Tubman
5. ?
6. MC Hammer (He just came to some private club in SL, he he!)
7. Booker T. Washington
8. Have no idea ("Time out!")
9. The great Mr. T
10. Karl Malone (My basketball herO)
11. Frederick Douglas ("The Black Lion")
12. The Cosby Family (Classic! But I don't expect you to expect me to know all of their names!)
13. Famous Amos (The cookie man)
14. Uncle Ben (You stink, Uncle Ben! Or at least, your rice does!)

You forgot that you have actually met some "real" black people, not just the movie stars. When we lived in Washington D.C., our neighbor girls Shanayenaye (or whatever her name was) and her little sis. And 90% of your entire kindergarten class! (:
Love you Adam!
